MFA - Configure with Automated Phone Call


Our goal is to strengthen the security of your Office 365 account by enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) with 2-step verification. MFA is a method of authentication that requires the person seeking access to data to be able to verify their identity in at least two ways. In general, it is two out of these three methods:

  • Something you know – a password
  • Something you have – a hardware token such as a mobile phone
  • Something you are – biometrics such as iris scan, fingerprint, or facial recognition

**Important**: You may be prompted to use MFA for different Office products such as Outlook, Skype, OneDrive, or Outlook Web Access (OWA). Anytime you change your password, you may be prompted to enter the verification code to allow access.


Configuring MFA  

1. Open a web browser and click this link ->

2)Complete sign in by entering your full email address and computer password as normal.

  • Click “Signin”

  • Click “Next” to this security prompt.


3) Enter a cell phone or desk-phone number 

  • Select "Call Me"
  • Click Next



4) You should receive an automated phone call

  • Hit  # to continue



5) Once verification has completed click Done


6) You may be prompted to “Stay signed in?”This will reduce the number of times you are asked to sign in to other Microsoft apps on your device.

  • If this is not a shared computer, check “Don’t show this again” first and Yes. Otherwise select No

If you have completed step 5, you have successfully setup your MFA (multi-factor authentication).
